This tour completely sold out so book now for 2011 to avoid disappointment.

National Anti-Bullying week is an excellent opportunity to tackle the important issues and potential impact of bullying and discrimination.

Our interactive and engaging drama based workshops are designed to stimulate discussion and empower your students to understand the different areas of bullying and discrimination.

The theme for this year’s National Anti Bullying Week is:

"Taking Action Together"

Taking Action Together Performance Workshop – 90 mins

Watch, engage and respond!

This workshop will focus on the importance of working together, the impact of society working collectively to make positive changes. Due to the continuous progressions in technology and communications there will also be a focus on some elements of Cyber Bullying, as we feel it is important to raise awareness that all forms of Bullying are wrong and unacceptable.

The workshop will be led by two professional actors/facilitators. The students will then be invited to a discussion to discuss the importance of working together and how, as people living within society we are all responsible for our individual actions. There will be an opportunity to discuss Cyber Bullying and to clarify what is and what is not acceptable to post on social networking websites, emails, instant messages or blogs and the use of mobile phones in the form of phone calls and text messages.

We are flexible...the subject matter of the scripts can be tailored to cover bullying issues that have been identified by your school to increase the relevance for your students.

Give the Students a voice!

This thought provoking workshop uses dynamic exercises and role play scenarios devised by the students drawing from their own experiences.

Through varying exercises the facilitators invite the students to discuss and explore the many ways people can be bullied. How bullying spirals out of control, and the importance of informing someone whether you are the victim, witness or the bully yourself. Awareness will be raised on the impact bullying has and the repercussions in later life on victims and bullies alike.

Scenes and situations will be played out by the students in an improvised manner to provoke discussion and deepen understanding. Using current/topical characterisations and situations, the students will find they are able to relate to the messages being communicated and will leave engaged and enlightened.

The students will experience led based exercises in groups and individually which explore the many thoughts and feelings of a bully, victim and a witness. Questions will be raised such as:

Who gets bullied?

Why do we bully?

Why do we allow ourselves to be bullied?

What can we do to try and eradicate bullying?

Using theatrical forms the students will work on communication skills and how to convey these issues both physicality and through the spoken word. The workshop intends to develop personal expression, individuality, respect and responsibility whilst strengthening the student’s empathetic side.

By the end of the workshop student should have an understanding of the importance of sensitivity, empathy and respecting individuality. The workshop aims to build confidence by encouraging students to express their thoughts and feelings creatively in a safe environment.

We are able to offer up to three workshops a day.
